Tom Eisel joined the Sylvania Township Fire Department in March of 1977. Prior to his employment with the Sylvania Township Fire Department, he was a volunteer firefighter with his hometown department of Berkey, Ohio for 5 years. Deputy Chief Eisel is a certified State of Ohio FFII firefighter, Paramedic, Fire Safety Inspector, Fire Instructor and a Fire and Explosives Investigator.
Chief Eisel believes that some of the most critical work occurs after a fire is extinguished. He believes that by conducting comprehensive fire investigations, consumer products are manufactured to safer specifications; fire suppression systems become more efficient; and building construction techniques become more effective. In his free time, Deputy Chief Eisel enjoys flying and spending time with his family. He and his wife Susan have 2 daughters and a son.

Jennifer Howard began her career with Sylvania Township in October of 1996 and became the fire department's Administrative Assistant in February 2001. Jennifer came to Sylvania Township with a background in customer service and accounting from Sky Bank, where she was employed for 11 years. In addition to her role with the fire department, Ms. Howard has served as the recording secretary for both the township Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals. Originally from Rossford, Ohio, Jennifer moved to Sylvania in 1986 with her two children Katie and Kyle.
