POLICE OFFICER

The Sylvania Township Police Department will conduct an open competitive examination to establish an eligibility list for the position of police officer. The examination will be given on January 31, 2009 at 9:00 am. Duties of police officer include road patrol, traffic enforcement, and general enforcement of the laws of the State of Ohio with related duties as required. Starting salary is $22.25 per hour.

Requirements: Minimum educational requirement is graduation from high school or GED and completion of an Associates Degree or 64 semester hours (96 quarter hours) of academic work at an accredited college or university. Applicants must have current Ohio Peace Officer’s Certification or be qualified to be certified by April 30, 2009. Applicants must also be at least 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen and must be able to produce a valid driver’s license at the time of competitive exam.

Applicants may be involved in the following qualification activities: background investigation, physical examination, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
